INTRODUCTION

Thank you for participating in The Ohio State University College of Optometry Online CE program. This CE program was developed not only to provide practicing optometrists with up-to-date information to better care for their patients, but also to generate an endowment for optometry student scholarships here at the college.

As most of you know, with our challenging state budget, our optometry students are being asked to pay through higher tuition for an increasing percentage of their education costs. The college has made a commitment within its most recent strategic plan to double the available scholarship dollars over the next 5 years for our students. This Online CE program is just one small step in this effort. Every dollar received as Online CE tuition will go toward this effort. Thank you for your participation.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Click on the continuing education program of your choice.
  2. We ask you to register for the course and provide an email address for communication.
  3. You will be guided through an approximate 1 hour CE program. At the conclusion of the program you will be given a short multiple-choice test. A score of 80% or higher is required for CE credit for the course. You will be shown the questions you missed along with the answer that you have provided. If you did not score at 80% or higher, you will need to retake the test.
  4. Once you have scored at the 80% level (or higher), you will receive a confirmation of successful completion along with a confirmation number. You will need to print out that confirmation form and complete the blanks showing your name, address, and optometric identification information.
  5. You must then mail the completed confirmation form along with course payment to:

      Cost for CE Program:
        1 hour CE course - $25*

      *(note: Optometrists with a current faculty appointment at The Ohio State University College of Optometry have a discounted course fee on only $10.)

  6. Your CE transcript will then be mailed to you. It is only the course TRANSCRIPT that can be used to verify course completion to your state board of optometry. The confirmation form described in step 4 above is not an appropriate document for state board verification of satisfactory course completion. Remember: 100% of course tuition is used to fund a scholarship endowment for students at The Ohio State University College of Optometry.
