Part two of a three part series on Ohio Optometric Association Award winners.
Dr. Gilbert Pierce (right) accepts the gavel from Dr. Tom Bobst to become the Ohio Optometric Association President. Gil Pierce, OD, PhD, assumed the office of president of the Ohio Optometric Association at the recent East/West Eye Conference in Cleveland. A graduate of The Ohio State University College of Optometry, Dr. Pierce is an associate professor of clinical optometry at Ohio State. He is also the only Ohio Optometric Association president to serve simultaneously as a faculty member.
In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he is an attending optometrist in the Primary Vision Care Clinic and serves on the College's admissions, faculty advisory, curriculum, and clinic committees.
Dr. Pierce resides in Lewis Center.
